02 · Brand Build · The proof phase

A website is where a brand stops being an idea and becomes operational.

A speaker, coach, or consultant doesn't have a website problem. They have a proof problem. The site is where the brand has to be visible, deliverable, and referable — and most aren't.

What Brand Build is

Brand Build is the proof phase of brand work.

Most websites for speakers, coaches, and consultants are built before the brand work is done. The result is predictable. The site looks fine. The colours are right. The photos are professional. And the site does not produce the calls, bookings, or referrals it was supposed to produce — because the brand the site is meant to represent was never actually built.

Brand Build solves the second half of that problem. The first half is BrandThera — the diagnostic and brand foundation work that establishes who the client is, what they promise, what their position is in the market, and what their voice and content must be.

Once that work is done, Brand Build turns it into a site that performs the brand — visibly, consistently, and in the places clients will encounter it.

The standard failure pattern
Site looks fine. Doesn't convert.
Copy that says everything and means nothing.
The brand it's supposed to represent was never built.
Built on brand work first
Every word earns its place
Design serves a position that's already clear
The right clients recognise themselves immediately

Full Engagement — Preferred

BrandThera + Brand Build

BrandThera develops the brand, positioning, voice, and content. Brand Build delivers it as a complete website system designed around that work. One continuous project. One team. The site is built from the brand outwards, not the other way around.

This is the engagement we recommend in almost every case. It is the only path that produces a site that performs the brand from day one — because there is no translation gap between the brand work and the build.

Standalone Brand Build

Brand Build only

Clients who have already done substantial brand work — through BrandThera with us, or genuinely well-developed brand work done elsewhere — can engage Brand Build on its own.

Standalone is rarer than clients expect. Most who arrive saying "the brand is sorted, I just need the site" discover in the first review that the brand has been described, not built. When that happens we say so. The decision to proceed standalone or to bring BrandThera in remains with the client.

Are you ready for Brand Build?

Brand Build is the right next step when most of these are true.

If three or more of the following apply, the readiness is there. If fewer than three apply, the conversation needs to start with BrandThera, not Brand Build.

  • 1

The brand work is done — or close enough that the gaps can be named. Voice, positioning, audience, promise, and core content have been developed and you can articulate each one without scrolling through notes.

  • 2

Your current site is generating fewer enquiries, bookings, or referrals than your reputation deserves. People who meet you in the room respond strongly. People who land on the site do not.

  • 3

Bureau, podcast, or partnership opportunities are being turned down, lost, or never offered — and the site is part of why.

  • 4

Pricing has moved or is about to move and the existing site no longer reflects the level you now operate at.

  • 5

You want a site you will not have to rebuild in two years because the work was done properly the first time.

What Brand Build delivers

A complete website system.
Not a website.

Every component below is included as standard. Each one ends with an outcome — because deliverables without outcomes are just features.

01

Brand-aligned site architecture

Every page is structured around the brand work, not generic web design templates. Homepage, About, Services or Programs, Speaker / Keynote page, Client Results, Articles, Contact. Each page does specific brand work — proves the promise, demonstrates the position, captures the right next action.

Outcome: visitors leave the site having understood the brand. Not having scrolled through it.
02

Content that performs

The site copy is written from the BrandThera content development — or, for standalone clients, from interviews and a structured content extraction. No blank pages. No "please send us your bio." We do the writing. You review.

Outcome: a site that sounds like you at your most credible, not at your most polished.
03

Proof architecture

Testimonials, case studies, video, results, media mentions, and client stories are not added afterwards — they are designed into the site. The architecture assumes the proof is the work, not the decoration.

Outcome: a site that demonstrates the brand promise through evidence, in the format each prospect needs to see.
04

Speaker-specific elements

Speaker reel placement. Topic and keynote pages structured for bureaus and event organisers. Downloadable speaker kit or one-sheet. Booking enquiry forms that ask the questions bureaus need answered. Past event credibility built in.

Outcome: a site that does the qualifying work a speaker's agent would otherwise have to do.
05

Technical foundation

Fast load times. Mobile-first responsive design. SSL, hosting for the first year, Google Analytics and Search Console integration, structured data, SEO-optimised content. Click tracking. Custom forms for enquiries, downloads, and referrals. CRM integration.

Outcome: a site that Google sees, that loads fast, and that captures every enquiry it generates.
06

Reputation and reviews

Google, LinkedIn, and platform-specific review capture and display. A private feedback path for unhappy clients before public reviews are written. Quarterly review prompts integrated into client follow-up.

Outcome: visible social proof that compounds month over month.
07

Launch playbook

Most sites go live. This one goes to work. A structured 30-day launch sequence covering email announcement, social posts, partner and bureau outreach, podcast and media notifications, and the specific moves that put the new site in front of the audience that should see it first.

Outcome: traffic, trust, and enquiries from the first week — not from the first month Google finally indexes the site.

After launch

A website is a moment.
A brand is operational.

We don't hand over the site and disappear. Every Brand Build engagement includes the operating system that keeps the brand working after launch.

Monthly rhythm

Monthly brand actions

Article or blog refresh. Proof updates — new testimonials, new case studies, new results. SEO content additions. Review prompts to recent clients. Newsletter dispatch to the database.

The brand continues to compound rather than decay between major projects.
Content system

The three-channel writing system

Articles on the site — the long-form content that ranks and demonstrates expertise. Instagram short-form posts and video scripts — where the highest conversion happens for speakers, coaches, and books. A monthly newsletter to the database — the channel that produces the most reliable repeat enquiries.

The brand operates in the three places that matter, not just the one place you feel most comfortable.
Proof inventory

Proof update discipline

New proof is added on a defined cadence. Testimonials within 14 days of a new engagement. Case studies after every significant client outcome. Speaker reel updates after major events. Media mentions captured within a week.

Clients arriving at the site this month see evidence that didn't exist last month.
Optional add-on

Active Monthly Support

For clients who want us to operate the system on their behalf — updates, content additions, reputation management, analytics review, monthly strategic check-in. Available month-to-month at $2,000/month.

The brand does its job while you do yours.

Speakers we've rebuilt with

Three complete rebuilds where the brand work was done first.

All three are professional speakers operating internationally. The framing in each one is the same: where they were → what the brand work surfaced → how the site now performs the brand.

Speaker — The Outback Ambo™
Before

A powerful story with no clear market position. Incredible content, no container for it.

After

Owned a story nobody else in his market could tell. A brand that opens rooms before he walks in.

"An incredibly effective and worthwhile experience — I was able to really understand my own brand and my position across the world of events."

Author — The Perceptive Advantage™
Before

A respected truth-and-deception expert with no clear brand position in market. Spending energy explaining herself to every new prospect.

After

Perceptive Advantage as the central organising idea. The right clients arrived already convinced. The site did the qualifying she used to do on calls.

Global Speaker & Author — Human Potential
Before

International speaker with four published books but no settled brand position. Speaking, books, and coaching operating as three separate offers.

After

Human Potential as the unifying frame. All three offers integrated as one brand body of work. A platform that matched the depth of the thinking.

The Brand Build process

Six stages. Structured so you know what's happening at every point.

You know what's needed from you, and when. Nothing launches without your sign-off.

1

Brand foundation review

We confirm the brand work is ready to build from. For Full Engagement clients, this is the handoff from BrandThera. For Standalone clients, this is the audit that determines whether the existing brand work is genuinely ready — or whether BrandThera needs to come first.

2

Architecture and content design

Site structure designed around the brand work. Page-by-page content drafted by us from the BrandThera materials or from structured interviews. You review and refine.

3

Visual design

Design developed against the content, not the other way around. Photography, video, colour, typography, and layout decisions made against the brand foundation. You review before build begins.

4

Build and review

Site built in stages. You review each stage before the next begins. Final review covers all functionality, all integrations, all forms, and all tracking.

5

Launch sequence

Launch sequence executed across email, social, partners, podcasts, and bureaus over the first 30 days. The site is not just published — it is announced into the brand's relationships.

6

Ongoing operation

Brand Operating System handover. You're trained on monthly actions, the three-channel writing system, and proof update discipline. Optional Active Monthly Support engaged from this point.

Investment

Three engagement levels. The right one is determined in the brand review.

Frequently asked questions

Answers you'd want before the call.

A website agency builds sites. Brand Build builds the site that operates a brand. The difference shows up before the first page is designed — Brand Build begins with confirming the brand work is in place. If it is not, the build does not start. Website agencies build whatever the client asks for.

Not always. Clients with substantial existing brand work — done with us in BrandThera, or genuinely well-developed brand work done elsewhere — can engage Brand Build as a standalone. In practice, most clients who believe their brand work is done find in the foundation review that some of it has been described rather than built. When that happens, we say so. The decision to proceed standalone or to add BrandThera remains with you.

Six to ten weeks for the build itself, depending on scope, photography, video production, and how quickly content reviews are returned. The Full Engagement (BrandThera + Brand Build) typically runs three to six months end to end.

We do. Brand Build is not a fill-in-the-template service. Site copy is written from BrandThera materials or from structured interviews. You review, refine, and approve. You are not sent a content questionnaire and left to write the site yourself.

Yes. Domain, content, design files, hosting access, and CMS access — all owned by you. We operate the site on your behalf when Active Monthly Support is engaged, but ownership remains with you at all times.

The existing site stays live until the new one is ready to launch. Redirects are mapped properly. SEO equity is preserved or improved. You never have a gap between sites.

First year of hosting is included in the build. After year one, hosting renews at our standard rate or you can take hosting elsewhere. Active Monthly Support is optional and month-to-month. No long-term contracts.

Brands evolve. Brand Build sites are designed to be updated by us or by you. Major brand pivots — a new position, a new audience, a new business direction — typically warrant a fresh BrandThera engagement before the site is rebuilt around the new work. Minor evolution is handled in the monthly operating rhythm.

Start here

Brand Build doesn't begin with a website conversation.
It begins with a brand review.

In the 30-minute brand review, we run a Public Brand Intelligence snapshot on your existing brand presence — your current site, your social profiles, your published content, your public reputation.

You leave with a clear read on where your brand is operating, where the gaps are, and which path — Standalone Brand Build, BrandThera, or Full Engagement — is the right next step.

There is no obligation to proceed after the review. The review itself is the demonstration of the work.
